First Periodic Review of Scottish Parliament Boundaries
Revised Recommendations for constituencies and Provisional Proposals for regions
The Boundary Commission for Scotland published its Revised Recommendations for constituencies and Provisional Proposals for regions for the Scottish Parliament on 21 May 2009. This publication is part of the Commission's First Periodic Review of Scottish Parliament Boundaries which was announced on 3 July 2007. The full process of the review is set out in the Descriptive Booklet, available below.
The Revised Recommendations for constituencies for Aberdeen City; Argyll and Bute; and City of Edinburgh Council areas were superseded by the Commission's Further Recommendations for these areas which were published in September 2009. In October 2009, the Commission made a statement concerning its intentions on its Final Recommendations for constituencies.

Publication of the Revised Recommendations for constituencies and Provisional Proposals for regions was announced through Statutory Notices placed in newspapers and News Releases. Material relating to the proposals was made available for public inspection at a variety of locations such as council offices and libraries which are detailed in the Statutory Notices. The proposals cover all of Scotland.
The Commission decided on its Revised Recommendations for constituencies after consideration of representations received concerning its Provisional Proposals for constituencies and the associated Local Inquiries.
The consultation period lasted from 21 May 2009 to 21 June 2009.
