These Provisional Proposals for regions have been superseded by the Commission's Revised Recommendations for Regions, published on 7 January 2010.

The Commission arranged for a Local Inquiry to be held concerning these Provisional Proposals for regions.

The publication of Provisional Proposals for Scottish Parliament regions took place at the same time as the publication of Revised Recommendations for Scottish Parliament constituencies.
